Our Mission as the Deep Ellum Urban Garden is to GROW (food, health, knowledge, beauty, community).
Our vision is to provide opportunities for people to grow food for themselves increase their healthy activity, get to know their neighbors, learn from each other, and create a productive and beautiful commons.
Our vision is already taking shape as neighbors came together to form the Deep Ellum Urban Gardens Committees. These volunteers have helped permit the land, create blue prints, and have done the soil testing. Now we turn to our community to help us raise funds to get us from here to there.
Line items we need to raise funds for:
- Benches
- Concrete for sidewalks
- Fencing & Install
- Garden tools: gloves, rakes, hoes, water hoses, and shovels
- Irrigation System & Install
- Lighting
- Liner, Gravel, Mulch, and Dirt for the beds
- Logo for the Urban Gardens
- Lumber for Shed
- Lumber for the Raised Beds, Trellis, and Tables.
- Organic Supplies
- Plants
- Roof for Shed
- Washing Station
- Concrete for foundation, and new art walls
- Sink
- Lockers
