Alfredo Pina is a talented painter and muralist who resides in Deep Ellum and whose work can be found across the neighborhood! You might recognize his murals by the back entrance to High and Tight and most recently in Deep Ellum’s Blues Alley.
As Alfredo spends plenty of time in the neighborhood, he has had plenty of time to blaze a trail across the Deep Ellum and discover his favorite haunts and hangouts. Read on for Alfredo’s perfect Day in Deep Ellum and make a plan to visit his spots!
A perfect day in Deep Ellum for Alfredo definitely starts at AllGood Cafe for breakfast. For a midday pick me up, Alfredo loves to swing by Uncle Ubers or Cane Rosso for lunch. To round out the daylight hours, a cocktail at Thunderbird Station hits the spot.
After the sun goes down, Alfredo has an ideal lineup starting with dinner at Revolver Taco Lounge or Harlowe MXM, depending on his mood. Post dinner, a stroll over to The Free Man for rousing live jazz and blues on their smaller stage. After an evening of delicious food and live music, Alfredo’s favorite spot to wrap up the evening is with a nightcap at the Deep Ellum staple, Double Wide.
“In general, what’s great about this neighborhood is being able to walk around and change your whole experience within a few blocks, for whatever mood you’re in. I love being able to casually grab a drink and a bite at some of the less flashy spots that have been around for decades; there’s something authentic about them. It’s also great to be able to try new things all the time and all the while, you’re surrounded by culture and art.”
